Whale with bike chain teeth
Commissioned rainbow trout
About 10” tall, 18.5” wide
Mr. Jauntystripes.
I finished it, it was too plain, so it got some stripes and now it’s just right.
Labor Day Weekend champ.
The best thing I made over the long weekend.
An example of a remix.
This one just wasn’t working for me so I redid the teeth, tail, and a couple other little details. Much more sleek and aerodynamic now.
A new style of whale, plus the paints I used.
Commissioned Peacock
Someone requested a peacock which is a new one for me. I had previously painted one on canvas but had never made a wooden peacock before. Lot of detail work and it took longer than expected but I like how it turned out. I might make another at some point
50 shades of blue
3 new “needle nose” fish
3 variations on an idea.
Large pufferfish.
Biggest one of these I have made. Super heavy because the eye is a very thick grinding disc. Love how it turned out.
Lots of little details on this one.
A fish but make it hang down…
Done! See if you can answer this question. “The main reason I hung it like this is ____________.”
A)it has a weird center of gravity going sideways
B) it’s weird and I like it
C) all of the above.

If you said C you’re a winner!
New design…puffer fish!
Features track spikes. These are a lot of fun to make.
Downward Trend
Had to dodge a couple nasty knots. Results:
My best work happens when a particular shape of leftover wood or some natural issues with the wood (knots, cracks, etc) force me to come up with creative solutions. This is the #1 reason I prefer working with wood vs. canvas. I would have never thought of this shape without the knot I had to dodge and the crack in the wood.
Windy Carruthers
This one is called Foreigner.
Why? A Foreigner song was stuck in my head when I was finishing it up.
Hilly Billy
A big one.
King Fu Lobster
Pretty self-explanatory.
