Desert Sunset16"x20" acrylics on acid-free canvas. I outlined the cactus, sun, and parts of the ground with tar gel to give it some texture. The mountains include some shiny metallic ink to contrast with the foreground.

Angler Fish12”x12” acrylics, tar gel, ink on canvas. Edges are painted. Ready to be hung/framed. I sketched out an angler fish. What a weird but awesome creature. Then I outlined the whole thing in tar gel, which gives it texture and sheen (see pics). I did a “starry night” kind of thing to simulate the light produced by the fish in an otherwise dark environment. I love this piece.
Screaming Abstract12"x12" acrylics on canvas. Ready to be hung/framed. Not sure what's going on with this one. Someone told me it was Picassoesque. Draw your own conclusions. But it was really fun to make.

Pointillist Heart12"x12" acrylic paint on canvas. Ready to be hung or framed. I started with 2 coats of gesso for texture. Drew the outline of the heart and the black lines. I applied them thickly so they stand out. Next, adding hundreds of tiny dots. Abstract, but generally anatomically correct.
Blue PalletCrabDepicts a blue crab. About 16” tall, 21” wide. Of course, there are wires inside the arms so you can bend the all to make it bigger/smaller. Made mostly of reclaimed pallet wood, plus some leftovers from other projects and wooden beads. The wire is copper. The back isn’t the prettiest thing in the world but it keeps everything together.
Anatomical Heart #512"x12" acrylics, india ink on canvas. The gallery wrapped canvas has a thick painted edge so a frame is optional. Anatomically generally correct, yet abstract. The lines in this one are more gestural than other versions I have done. I love the result.
The Trippy CactusAbout 20.5” tall, 8” wide. I cut the main shape out of MDF then spray painted it. Next, I added some circular shapes with acrylic paint. Finally, I glued some navy blue shapes I cut out of some trim wood leftover from another project. It has a sawtooth hanger on the back for easy hanging.
Good Night Sweet Prince12”x16” acrylics on canvas. I laid down some gesso first to give it some texture. This depicts one of the final scenes from The Big Lebowski. Walter gives a spectacular eulogy, and this image happens right before he commits Donny's final mortal remains to the bosom of the Pacific Ocean, which he loved so well. This is also right before the wind blows Donny's ashes onto the Dude.
Gleeful SharkAbout 7” tall by 13” wide. As with many of my pieces, I used reclaimed pallet wood for this one. It's an especially gnary, weathered board, which is good and gives it character. It's a somewhat cartoonish shark. Looks eager to attack some prey. I cut out the wood, then painted it with patterns. I used blue ink over top of the acrylic paint to bring everything together. I used small wooden dowels for the dorsal fin. It has a sawtooth hanger on the back for easy hanging. I could make another one of these in different colors if you would like.
Pointillist Cactus12"x24" acrylics on acid-free canvas. Ready to be hung/framed. My first pointillist painting. Love how it turned out. I tried to use colors that complimented each other locally but contrasted other areas of the painting. Orange/purple is my favorite color combo. I'm from Ohio, I currently live in Virginia, and I've never been anywhere that cacti grow. Yet for some reason, I love cacti.
See No Evil16"x20" acrylics, India ink, hot glue on canvas. Ready to be hung or framed. I got to thinking about common sayings and how to translate them into a piece of art in my style. I came up with this. The hot glue gives it tremendous texture and visibility from all perspectives. The India ink gives it a bit of a sheen. I love how this piece turned out.
Less is More FishAbout 6” tall by 14.5” wide. As with many of my pieces, I used reclaimed pallet wood for this one. I kept the design pretty simple on this one. I cut out the shape, then painted the whole thing white. I used tar gel to make the scales, then layered blue ink over yellow paint to get the green. Because yellow+blue=green. The fin on the back is metal rod and nails. The eye is a washer over an already-existing knot hole. Has kind of an industrial look to it.
Eager Beaver FishAbout 5.5” tall by 7” wide. As with many of my pieces, I used reclaimed pallet wood for this one. I chose primary colors for this design. I carved out the scales and teeth and I used a bottle cap and screw for the eye. The fin on top is alternating springs and painted wood dowels. This guy has a real go-getter look to him. Probably tries too hard in gym class. It has a sawtooth hanger on the back for easy hanging. I could make another one of these in different colors if you would like.
